My amaryllis are just starting to poke out of the neck of the bulbs, but my 
clivias are coming into full bloom. If a duffer has only one house plant, it 
should be a clivia. Easy care, attractive foliage, truly low light, and big, 
dramatic blooms that last into tulip time. All they really need is an 
occasional dusting.
