Another reliable winter bloomer is Veltheimia, a South African bulb with a 
pink (usually) flower. It blooms for weeks in January through March. Then 
when the snow melts and things get busy outside, this bulb has the good 
grace to go dormant. Throw it in the basement until fall.

BTW, for those who are thinking of dividing their overgrown clivia, get 
prepared for an all-day job.
