Re: New Year's Day Plant count

Here in the Willamette Valley of Oregon, a few stalwarts are blooming
and not being totally beaten down by rain. Rosemary is flowering and
will continue for several months, I'm seeing fava beans with flowers,
( squirrel got into my fava seed packet and did the planting) and
Erysimum Bowles Mauve has a few open buds and is poised to put on a
show, There are a few battered calendulas showing their face.
Chickweed is growing vigorously and I'd better start grubbing it out
before it blooms...no I don't like it my salads. The real star is
Jasminum nudiflorum, Winter Jasmine, because it is so colorful and
good for cutting. Hellebores are still sleepy.
