Here in Ireland this holds true until the day after they get married,
get pregnant and move from the apartment to the house with a garden.
At which point they want an outdoor entertaining space. And once they
start entertaining they want both the decoratives to show off with
and the fresh picked herbs and salads just like on the lifestyle
programmes. In the last year or two I've noticed that while once my
courses were filled with older gardeners honing skills now I'm
finding a room full of thirty somethings.
