Virtual Book Tour

Hi Everyone,

For Dan and everyone else in the book publishing arena, visit my blog

writing coach, Eric Maisel. While I hope the topic itself interests you,
those of you with books to promote may be even more interested in the
tour itself, as a way of promoting books via the internet.

Eric is "on" an eight-week tour in which he "visits" people's blogs. See
http://www.ericmaisel.com/vgb_tour_schedule.pdf to view how the schedule
is set up. A lot of organization and contacts are necessary to do this
correctly (Eric has a big audience), but I see this concept as having
legs for both GWA members and the GW listserv. I suppose it depends on
how defensive or competitive we feel about sharing our successes with one
another vs. the benefits each author would perceive from doing it.

If you're wondering what's in it for me to host an interview on a
non-gardening book, Eric has more than 3,000 subscribers to his
electronic newsletter, as well as groupies who follow the tour. When I
finally find a publisher for my book, I want to be able to access all of
those readers!

If there is interest among the listserv members, I'll put together some
more details.

Come spring, I'll be hosting Eric again on his upcoming book, A Writer's
Space.
