Speaking of magazines
I just got a look at the Feb/Mar 2009 issue of Horticulture. There are numerous plugs for their website, particularly inviting readers to participate in the blogs and forums. Then large hunks of the magazine are just transcriptions from these on-line (free) contributions. They have also dropped the authors' profiles in the front, and for good reason, because there seems to be very little actual paid content. I guess this is a new business model to cut costs on their paper and ink pub. I wonder if this is a transition to becoming totally on-line for Horticulture.
