Re: Native azalea nurseries?
Hello Sally
If you have not left as yet... American Azaleas by L. Clarence Towe,
lists Lazy K Nursery as a source in the back of his book. It does have a
good word of mouth reputation, and they do a lot or original breeding on
their own.
I am told one of the best around for native azalea is Vivian Abney,
East Fork Nursery, in Sevierville, TN. Have not been here, taking the work
of a collector and breeder.

Subject: [GWL] Native azalea nurseries?
Hi all---Okay, so I've been googling all morning (in between starting seeds)
for native azalea nurseries that I can make a quick road trip to, with a
rented SUV to cram full of big, budded plants.
Best possibilities so far appear to be Mountain Mist Nsy near Asheville NC
and Lazy K/Garden Delights in Pine Mt, GA, neither of which I've been to;
Gdn Watchdog has reviews from 2004 on one and no reviews on the other.
Anyone ever been to either? Or have another recommendation?
