Thanks, Gene; thanks, Lina; thanks, all, for your great suggestions on my OT posting re: indulging my native azalea cravings. 

It's gonna be a fun road trip, got stops all along the way for photos/gdns/interviews/hanging out with other plant geeks.

Lazy K was already at the top of my list, and now I'm drooling even harder after talking to owner Ernest Koone this morning. Might have to rent a semi instead of an SUV....

Enjoying the aftermath of the ice storm (and the 8" of snow that followed it). Hope you are all safe and cozy.

Horrible to hear tree limbs snapping like gunshots last night, but, boy, it sure is pretty (and the XC skiing is great). The robins that are polishing off every raisin, currant, and apple I had in the house look mighty happy out there. 

As for the squirrels harnessed to the giant hamster wheel that's powering this laptop, well, they're a little cranky.
