Re: Reel mowers


You can sharpen the blades on your own but it's an art that's  pretty much 
lost...and somewhat dangerous as the blades get very, very  sharp.  If you 
have a local golf course see if you can find out who runs  the shop...they 
may be able to do it for you as they probably use reel  mowers on their 
greens.   In your area there are probably local small  machine/mower shops...maybe 
even an Agway that does it.  You might also  give a call to your nearest 
Cazenovia Equipment dealer as they may be  able to do it also ( 
_www.cazenoviaequipment.com/_ (http://www.cazenoviaequipment.com/) )  If they don't do 
it by hand they need to use a lathe and most of those  disappeared when 
commercial reel mowers such as the Locke were replaced by high  speed rotary 
mowers.  Cazenovia is a Deere dealer and Deere still makes  some reel mowers 
for golf courses so......
