Endless Summer
I've tried two Endless Summer hydrangeas. One died back in summer, struggled to come back from winter and never got more than ankle high before giving up to our drought this year. I tried to water but it was never enough. The other has to come back from the ground after each winter, droops in summer if it isn't tended every day, gets black spot (I thought that was for roses), and is a general disappointment. It is planted in improved soil on a large berm under the shade of a young oak. A native Annabelle nearby in blazing sun is stunning and uncomplaining.
