If you have your email as a clickable link, spammers will pick it up. I noticed that once I put clickable links on my website that I began to get two or three "barristers from Nigeria" emails a day. My yahoo address does a great job of filtering all others out. But I've also gotten several speaking gigs from those who have gone to my website so deleting a few offers of unclaimed millions of dollars seems like a small price to pay. Perhaps other's email accounts aren't as good as yahoo at filtering spam, however.
I have NOT seen any increase in sales calls - I am on the do not call list too and the only calls I get are those from charities that I already donate to.
