Re: another thought re: web pages
Hello Carol,
When it came time to construct our greenhouse, the easiest way to
convince my wife and partner of the need was to remind her of how she feels
in winter when playing in the greenhouse. We met when she worked part time
at a nursery and garden center. In fact, we knew a man who had no interest
in plant, but had a greenhouse constructed just so he could lay in his
hammock and read a book in the winter. He is how has a medicinal herb
business.
My greenhouse is custom designed. First 4 feet are on footers and poured
concrete like your basement. The structure is pushed back into the side of
the hill for insulation value. Frame is like a home, only with greenhouse
film stretched double. Front faces north so we finished it off like and old
barn with rough sawed siding... local red oak. Inside has bathroom
facilities for guests, other side has a small office with the refrigerator.
We do shipping from down the middle of the structure and the outside benches
usually have baby plants growing on..... In the winter all JoAn's tenders
are in larger containers at the back and center. We spend more time in the
greenhouse than we do our home.
