Re: flower commodes

Thanks, you reminded me of "Boot Hill," somewhere in Northern Vermont.

In winter, it was bare, but each year when the snow came off and the ground
thawed, stakes appeared. Set randomly on the slope, they were just stakes.
Next came a hand-painted wooden sign that read, "Boot Hill." And sure
enough, before long, up-ended boots hung, one from a stake, all over the
hill. The soles were worn, some had holes, and the leather or rubber was
beat. There were all kinds of country boots--muck boots, hiking boots,
steel-toed boots, and even a pair of old riding boots. Someone mowed the
hill; I never saw grass grown up around the boots.

...and that's all I know about "Boot Hill"
