Re: BBC must stop dumbing down gardening shows,

I am not sure what that was about either. Alan Titchmarsh did a much more
light hearted garden show and almost got eclipsed by Charlie, the female
cohost, towards the end. If I recall correctly it went toward the instant
garden make over that we all know so well.

Does the Royal Hort Society prefer in depth plant profiles and shows
about jaunts to New Zealand to see the foliage there??? Surely there is room for
all sorts of garden shows, - darn it there is a whole channel here devoted
to cooking, why can't we develop garden shows that address all levels from
the beginner to the expert and respect all of them?

As I've not seen any BBC programmes since I was last in the UK 4 years
ago, I don't feel qualified to weigh in here. Who has witnessed this
'dumbing-down' first-hand? Can anyone cite any concrete examples of things that
should not be occurring in the self-professed "nation of gardeners?" Or direct
me to some such examples I can weigh myself, online?
