Team,
While the link below cites the situation in the UK, I'm pretty sure we will
soon see an upsurge in gardening interest with young people, here.
Unlike the UK story, however, I really feel the folks in the States will be
much more interested in gardening for food rather than horticultural
interests.
What that means is we are pioneers and just a little ahead of the curve. We
need to be positioning ourselves with young gardeners as gardening experts
with the tools to match.
This needs to be maybe a social media protect, where we work though YouTube
and elsewhere to get a "cult following" among the younger gardeners. It can
happen and it's common marketing knowledge that if you get them when they
are young, it's easy to keep them.
We need to incorporate this into our business plan. Which by the way, we
should have a full blown discussion of before too long.
