Actually, as I understand it, Amazon did not announce that Kindle books were outselling all print editions, only that they were outselling hardcovers, which is a different thing.
Hardcovers typically cost at least twice the price of the Kindle version.
And Sandie, while I can't give advice on ebook readers -- although most reviews give Kindle the edge -- I would like to encourage anyone with an iPhone to download the free Kindle app.
I thought the print would be way too small to read books on the iPhone but my younger son said it wasn't and urged me to give it a try. I did and love it.
Speaking from personal experience, moving thousands of pounds of books isn't fun or cheap. Much better to have my fiction reading in the palm of my hand.
