Yeah Karen, But cut um up, sprinkle on a bit of salt, some wine vinegar, throw in some chopped onion and fresh tomates. Let the mix sit for 20 minutes or even over night. Add a bit of good olive oil and you have salad fit for a king. I use it as a base for pesto pasta salad and dozens of other mixes. To die for. It's a basic fresh relish I learned about years ago on a trip to Europe. I never buy the bottled stuff. Then of course there is the classic sour cream, thin sliced onions and cukes. Oil and vinegar is also an option if you're a vegan. Again the secret is salting the cukes and onions and letting them sit before dressing.

As Doreen points out, cucumbers can be bitter. Not trying to be picky, butterms such as crisp, crunchy, fresh, clean, etc. aren't flavors. Most cucumbers are pretty much flavorless.
