A message from a fellow writer - I am sharing - Plant A Row

I don't know if you all know Eva...she has a wonderful heart and was a joy
to meet...this is indeed very sad and my heart aches for her and this young
man....and his family. Life is indeed too short.

Hello Everyone -

While away on a glorious trip to England with Donna Dawson's I Can Garden
Group, I found out that one of my students was killed on his motor scooter.
What is most unfortunate about his untimely death was who he left behind, a
one year old son by the name of River. River had just recently celebrated
his first birthday after a heart attack in January. River was in the
hospital for three months to recover - unfortunately River is blind from the
incident. The doctors are hoping that his sight will come back as he gets
stronger.

While John Paul's baby was in the hospital, John Paul was not able to attend
his regular classes while working full-time. But, he did work in our
community garden and he did organize a community garden day for the
community gardeners. He also saw to it that there was a plot for the local
food bank. John Paul was so dedicated to helping others - despite the fact
that he was going through his own troubles watching his young baby hang on
for dear life.

Which now brings me to the reason why I am writing. I am attaching the web
site that John Paul's family created in his memory. http://jpendicott.com/
You will note that Plant-a-Row was an integral part of his life. John Paul
was also a communicator. He worked in the film industry for years and you
will see that he was a great photographer. On the site you will see woody
plants from my class id, pictures of gardens, and other amazing shots from
around the world, including intimate family shots.

I hope that you share this story with others. In the mean time, the family
is now going to dedicate a garden in his honor at the university. I know
that his legacy of giving will carry on.

Wishing you all the best!! Life is short - enjoy it to the fullest.

Eva
