Regiona 2 News Reminder

HI all -

Figured I'd pass this on to GWL as well as most of you are GWA members and
are in Region 2 (Mid-Atlantic).

I have only received two pieces of Region 2 news so far and the deadline
for submission is Friday.

A favor? Could you put "Region 2 News" in the subject head? I get so many
press releases, fishing emails, spam, etc. It will be much easier to pull
out your precious news gems if the subject head is unique.

Region II news deadline: Friday, July 15, 2011

RESPOND DIRECTLY TO Kathy Jentz: _wgardenermag@aol.com_
(w*@aol.com)

The Region II report for the August Quill & Trowel newsletter must be
submitted to the editor. This report is a great opportunity to let other
members know about your activities.

The Regional News column is designed to provide GWA members with
information on public events, education opportunities and regional issues of
interest or concern to garden communicators. Regional reports are intended to
announce "what's happening" in a geographic area to allow members to plan for
opportunities to learn, network or participate in green industry and/or
media events. Content focus is on upcoming speaking engagements (open to other
members); member's news; member book signing (in the region where other
members can come see you); and new employment or job promotions. Horticultural
trade shows, association meetings and events, botanic garden events and
courses, and city events are also of interest. (Note: If youâre sending event
information, include events that will occur between August 20 and October
20, 2011. Please include specific details on dates and locations or web
link.)

Note: Information should be no longer than a short paragraph (no more than
four sentences) and written exactly as it should appear.

If youâve just published a book, please send a book cover (or a TIFF/JPG
file of the cover) along with a press release directly to the GWA editor:
_editor@gardenwriters.org_ (e*@gardenwriters.org) .

Submission DEADLINE: Friday, July 15, 2011

Remember that you can post your own news, calendar events and job
listings. Also, donât forget to update your membership profile.
