Re: Lady bugs, lady beetles...gone

Andrew,

I have not seen a lady beetle since early spring, and then there were only a
few on my apple trees. I attributed that to a lack of aphids at the time,
because of our cool spring, but I'm still not seeing any. No eggs or larvae
either.

I had noticed last winter that we had very few in the ceiling fixtures at
church and meant to ask whether they had had someone spray or caulk to keep
them out. I'm pretty sure that they didn't because of budget constraints.

Our town does not have a spray program, and my neighbors aren't big on
pesticide use, either. It's as much a mystery to me as where the wasps have
gone. We normally have quite a few wasps and hornets that help with pest
control in my vegetable garden, and I've seen very few of them, either. And
I've seen exactly 3 honey bees. It's getting creepy.
