There is no question you should check with your accountant. Mine let's me
write off all my plants etc.  In fact, when I first started writing my
column I went to the IRS for some free help one year and the "helper"
couldn't believe I wasn't taking all my plant materials and tools etc as a
deduction.  So, the "IRS made me do it."
