My lawn a month ago was a picture of Kentucky bluegrass, dandelions and
three colors of wild violets. I love it, and I restrain my husband's urge
to join the "boys" at Home Depot in the bagged turf builder department.
After years of me pontificating, he finally understands why I leave the
clippings on the lawn, fertilize only in early Fall with an slow-release
organic food and why I don't water the turf. Last summer, we had a drought,
and every lawn in town was brown, except ours. We trained it to be
survivor.
