invasives
One facet of the invasives problem is that what's invasive in one place may
not be a bother elsewhere. I couldn't get purple loosestrife to grow in my
yard if I tap-danced naked around it (of course, nothing might grow if I did
that). Yet Schefflera, which most people know only as a houseplant, is a
Category I invasive (the worst rating) in Florida. Magazines catering to
national audiences might shy away from the topic for this reason, although
it's not a good enough reason, in my estimation. Maybe writers could pitch
such stories by offering to categorize the invasives according to region.
