One facet of the invasives problem is that what's invasive in one place maynot be a bother elsewhere. I couldn't get purple loosestrife to grow in myyard if I tap-danced naked around it (of course, nothing might grow if I didthat). Yet Schefflera, which most people know only as a houseplant, is aCategory I invasive (the worst rating) in Florida. Magazines catering tonational audiences might shy away from the topic for this reason, althoughit's not a good enough reason, in my estimation. Maybe writers could pitchsuch stories by offering to categorize the invasives according to region.Gerri Bauer, usually lurking_______________________________________________gardenwriters mailing listg*@lists.ibiblio.orgGWL has searchable archives at:If you have photos for GWL, send them to g*@hort.net and they will
