* Monrovia Growers in Azusa, Calif., launched a premium plant campaign in
garden centers this season. Its goal is to teach retail staffers and
consumers how to differentiate quality nursery products. The campaign will
include educational banners, brochures and videos. "For a brand to attract
loyal customers, it must have differentiating features that truly set it
apart from all other competitors," said Pam Wasson, Monrovia v.p. of
marketing. "But in the case of plants, the difference may not be so
obvious, especially since a plant's entire root system is hidden in the
container." http://www.monrovia.com
