Re: Incorporating

Title: Re: [GWL] Incorporating
Hi Larry and all,

Thanks for the detailed messages. Being incredibly non-technical I'm becoming dazed by all the information here. I wish I could buy a genie that would take care of these things or talk my teen-age daughter in becoming a computer geek :-)  I still haven't learned how to program my VCR (but I'm a book person, not a TV person).

There's a number of local collages that offer night courses in computers and photo shop and I think I'll have to take a few classes.
At the present though I wonder if I shouldn't just keep taking photos with my old Nikon 35mm.

You see, I never thought of myself as a photographer but people who see my slide shows are always telling me the images are beautiful. When I collaborated on "The Modern Daylily" currently being published by Timber Press, I sent them 40 slides. The main author had asked that I send in 10 slides to be used as chapter headers. I sent 40 so they could choose. It turns out they used almost all 40 plus chose one for the cover of the book. This was all basic slide photography. I would call it "beginners luck".

Do you and others here find the publishing companies turning away from slides? If not, maybe I'd better stick to that route and just "play" with a digital until I get to know it better.

Thanks for your advice,
Melanie Vassallo
