Kate – different email software and versions of that same software have different capacities. So, some will not give you the option of downloading or previewing but other software will. It all depends on what you’re running.

Even when we had Windows 98 and phone hookup, the option to download or not was always given. So long as the image is not embedded in the post itself it works well. Even if the image is part of the email you can shut the email down prior to getting far with the image without causing any problems. As the computers we use are the basic Walmart specials, nothing fancy, I assumed that everyone else had these basic capabilities. Am I wrong somewhere? Is it Macs that have the problem or do different programs/servers deal with these things in different ways?
