To all LIST members,
I sincerely and humbly apologize to you each and every one for any problems or inconvenience cause to you by my mistake of recently sending photos attached to an email that went to the entire list. I simply made a mistake and truly was not aware that the practice was illegal and forbidden. I'm truly sorry for causing you any wasted time or grief.
To Mr. Rombough,
I think you can safely assume that most people never get to the bottom of a typical email and don't read the blue print you have so helpfully provided. So to you I'm very sorry that I failed to follow your rules and to pay attention to your procedures. As for my punishment I will fade away into that good night and will no longer plague your list.
FYI according to http://www.gnu.org/software/mailman/features.html , which appears to be the software you are using, you do have many robust functions available for use. My understanding is that the "MIME-based content filtering, with demime/stripmime like options " would allow you to strip attachments which perhaps is a feature worth implementing to everyone's benefit.
Additionally I would humbly recommend, no matter how upset your are, that you try constructive coaching for errors committed by list members. I'm sure the level of technology savvy varies from neophyte to expert amongst list members and some people need help and coaching not shouting in all caps.
To Mr. London,
I am very sorry for the problems that I caused with your system. BTW no one has every called me a moron, a jerk or idiot all at the same time and to my face. Of course I'm quite sure that many of my fifty odd employees have those inner thoughts on many occasions, maybe even daily.
To anyone plagued with SPAM, viruses or other email problems,
You might consider using a program call MailWasherPro available at http://www.firetrust.com/. It is a wonderful program if you need to filter out major SPAM. (If you buy stuff online you will get tons of SPAM and must fight back). The program has many robust features including features like only downloading headers and a few lines of text. It does not download the full email or any attachments and has the added feature of virus protection. After filtering you can automatically send the filtered email to you regular email program. Perhaps others on the list know of similar products that are free or shareware since MailWasherPro cost $37. If you want the latest all inclusive protection I would recommend Norton Internet Security. (Careful they have many products and you have to be specific). http://www.symantec.com/sabu/nis/nis_pe/ should get you there. It does it all, viruses, firewall, spam, parental and privacy controls. Since we implemented this program last winter for all our business computers our Internet plagues have dropped to zero. With rebates the cost is about $50 and worth every cent.

Right now, I'm exceedingly annoyed (to use a polite term) at someone who sent a monster attachment to this list. DO NOT SEND PHOTOS TO THE LIST!!!!
If you want to post photos, LOOK AT THE INFORMATION IN THE FOOTERS OF EVERY POST - THERE IS AN ADDRESS WHERE YOU CAN SEND PHOTOS TO BE POSTED FOR THE LIST MEMBERS TO VIEW AS THEY WISH.
The only reason the sender of the photo hasn't been put on moderation is that I had to go to my ISP webmail and delete the posting as it was clogging my inbox and would have taken twenty minutes to download, so I couldn't get the name of the sender.
