Email Privacy

As listserv owner, I've been asked to comment on the privacy or lack of pertaining to posts on this list.

IMO, once you send an email, it's public record.  Plenty of lawsuits and federal indictments have been based on emails.

Think about what you write BEFORE you send it, because it will live forever and may come back to haunt you.

Also, I agree with Miranda Smith, it's only common courtesy to ask someone if you can quote their listserv posts.  I've done it many times, and several of you have asked for permission to quote me, too.

I sincerely believe that we garden writers are polite, ethical people.  But....still watch what you write, as the Internet is a wide open frontier.
