Re: speaking on a cruise
I was once the guest of a friend who was a featured speaker on a deal like this, but it was quite different: The "cruise" was on a paddlewheel steamboat, 6 days/nights on the Mississippi from Memphis to New Orleans. The speaking duties were not onerous -- easy for me to say, since I wasn't the speaker. But we had a great time. Pat Stone was another of the presenters.

Subject: [GWL] speaking on a cruise
I have been approached by a travel agent about being a featured speaker/workshop
leader on a cruise. She is offering me and my wife basically a free trip in
return for me doing one or two lectures (not every day) on board and a workshop
at a location on the island (yet to be determined) where the cruise goes to. I
never agree to freebies (defined by no money in my pocket at the end of the day
- I realize the trip is compensation), but this sounds a little enticing
especially if I can ensure the "not working every day/night" aspect.
Has anyone ever done something like this? What are the pitfalls?
