GWA conference

I don't know how many of you are planning on attending the conference in
Sept but I just had a very interesting conversation with the hotel, which was
prompted by my usual roommate for the conference.

They are almost sold out of rooms, and have no doubles for Thursday, which
is needed if you plan on attending the regional meetings on Friday. Friday is
also out. They think most people are arriving on Saturday - which is
farcical as the keynote speaker is on at 8 in the morning!

I got the gwa newsletter last week, but my mind is on summer right now, but
to find that the hotel is already sold out shows a major error on the part of
whomever is in charge of this. Is another hotel being arranged? This is
not the first time this has happened - remember Valley Forge?????? And I am not
about to book a single room, with a $40 change if a double comes available
which is what the lady suggested I do.

Apart from board members - has anyone even got as far as reading the
schedule and booking?
