Re: GWL Gathering in Portland

Doreen:

	You always do such a great job with this gathering!  I was not in
Oklahoma last year, but in all previous symposia, there's been a small but
dedicated group of people who really look forward to this coming-together.
Since I've not made my reservations and haven't even looked on-line to see
where we actually are in Portland, I would ask if there's anywhere close
that we could find to hang out and have a drink.  

	I'd be glad to help if you need it.  My wife may be coming with me
so you can count on at least two...

Subject: [GWL] GWL Gathering in Portland

I made hotel reservations this afternoon and learned from the hotel website
that they do not have a cocktail lounge.  We usually have our annual
gathering in the hotel bar.  Two questions I'd like everyone's input on:

1.  Do you want a listserv gathering to put faces to names, as we usually
do?  Last year, in Oklahoma City, the event was sparsely attended.  The
gathering will be 5-6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 19, if we have it.

2.  Suggestions on a place to gather?  The hotel has a Tex-Mex restaurant
and a casual cafe.  I'll find out if either has a bar area.  Any other
ideas?
