Re: GWL Gathering in Portland

An update on the Doubletree Hotel. They do have a bar/lounge attached  
to the Mexican Restaurant. I spoke with Judy who said we should talk  
with her manager John Kiphart at  503-281-6111. Judy said when they  
are booked with a conference they operate on a first come first seated  
basis. I was in there at 5:15 just now, with two conferences going on,  
and there would have been space to hold all of us rowdy garden writers.

As I said in my earlier post, Stanfords Restaurant and Bar is just  
directly across the street, north from the hotel. It is classier but  
still casual and probably has better food. I had lunch at the Mexican  
place in the hotel and it was ok.
