lawn mower window of opportunity

Dear All,
The lawnmower that my father-in-law gave us in the 1970's has died. My husband, who is a sentimental guy ("my father's lawnmower!") is in the Galapagos on a research cruise and is unable, TG,  to make a decision here. So I have a rare window of opportunity to trade in this gas-guzzling, non-mulching machine for a rechargeable, cordless, mulching mower. 

Quick - help me out here... have you purchased one lately? Recommendations?
