GWA Region V invites GWL members to a day of garden tours, interesting speakers, networking, fun and food on Friday, June 25 in the Quad Cities (Moline/East Moline & Rock Island, IL; Davenport & Bettendorf IA). Regional Director Amy McDowell has planned a day that includes:

=) Tours of four outstanding gardens filled with story ideas and photo ops

=) Darrin Nordahl, author of "Public Produce: The New Urban Agriculture" speaking about  

planting edibles on public land

=) A Buy Fresh Buy Local breakfast sponsored by the Quad Cities CVB

=) Lunch, sponsored by Wallace's Garden Center, and plant shopping op

=) Swag bags and door prizes

The Isle of Capri Casino Hotel is offering meeting participants a greatly discounted rate of $50/night including one free dinner buffet voucher with each room. Meeting registration is just $45 for GWA members/spouses and $55 for non-members. The registration deadline has been extended through Monday, June 13.
