Re: Writing for a govt blog and Dallas transportation

I'm a big believer in local content, but Kate reminds me that I don't always follow that. I write a monthly column for a newspaper in a city that I live at least 500 miles from.

My justification: I've published several regional gardening books that include this city and state -- and I lived in the region for many years. But looking at it on the face of it: I'm certainly not "local."

Is it possible that the Florida writer once lived in DC?

I will also say that some writers aren't really great at blogging -- they just do the same articles as though they were in print. But it's a shame they didn't at least try for local talent.

On the topic of transportation to the hotel in Dallas, I was pleased with Super Shuttle's service in Raleigh.
