Re: GWL Linked In passwords

With the news that more than 6 million passwords were stolen from Linked in and have shown up on a Russian website, did everybody who's a member of Linked In go to the site and change their password (to something more complex -- with upper and lower-case letters, a few numbers, no real words, etc.)?

Also, if you used the same password for Linked In and any other site, US government security officials say to change your password at those other sites, too.

We had a discussion on this list a while back about software that recalls your passwords, etc. I'm sure that Doug can weigh in on that issue again. Remembering dozens of passwords on your own, without help, is a huge pain.

Since Linked in hasn't been very forthcoming so far about what happened and why, you wonder if your new password could be stolen, too, through the same site vulnerability. Guess it's not too likely, though, with all those security folks crawling all over the site at the moment.
