For any list member who has had trouble with messages from GWL to them
bouncing, I thought the following would be of interes.

In a recent newsletter from our Topica list, issues, the 
following information was sent to List Owners that may explain 
the Hotmail bounces you are experiencing:

A few weeks back we told you that we were fine-tuning our 
bounce-handling process. We've finished the process and our 
systems are 
caught up. As a result,you have probably seen an increase in hard
and 
soft bounces. 

Some of this increase is the natural one-time result of catching 
up. You 
should also, however, be prepared to see going forward a higher 
rate of 
bounces for some ISPs, which we'll explain below. 

Regarding your current bounces. If you suspect a client name is 
still 
active, re-set your bounces. You can do this individually or in 
batches 
at your MyTopica page. We do suggest that if an address hard 
bounces a 
second time, you delete that adress. 

Going forward, you should be prepared for a higher rate of 
bounces from 
certain large ISPs, like AOL and Hotmail. Topica is a partner 
with these 
ISPs and as they seek to manage their growth they've asked that 
we use a 
stricter algorithm for labeling a bounce a "hard" bounce. As 
noted 
above, if you'd like to retry a name before deletion, you may do 
that. 
In the meantime, we'll continue to work with all ISPs as they 
fine-tune 
the practices that make the most sense within their communities.
