South Carolina Gardens

All those suggestions are good; but, if you want to go to a very inspiring
place, a great garden with a large collection of outdoor sculpture, and
fountains-go to Brookgreen Gardens in Murrells Inlet, it is below Myrtle
Beach, you will not be disappointed. I use to take groups there and never
had a complaint on how we spent the day. Another place that may surprise you
is the riverbanks Zoo and Botanical Garden in Columbia, the state capital
(sp?). One half of the grounds is devoted to horticulture, it is a very nice
collection, well laid out, well-labeled, and after moving back North I miss
the selection of plant matl. To use in design work. If you do go to Columbia
drive through the older/established neighborhoods, the azalea/dogwood show
will hurt your eyes, those South Carolinians love their azaleas, by the way
stop by the Hampton Street Vineyard for a great meal. And in Charleston ask
a local for directions to Shem Creek Bar and grill.
