Got three pages of PR today about a product called Scardy Cat. It's allegedly a 'new' plant that's capable of being a deterrent to cats and dogs so it acts as a natural repellent. I did a great deal of work 10 years ago on a plant called Citrosa which was also an alleged 'new plant' that was backed by research that never materialized and under scrutiny the plant and the promotions faded away.
As advertised, Scardy Cat is in fact a registered trade mark but the Trade Mark office indicated that it's only for a coleus variety...not a new plant. The PR also indicates that a plant patent is pending. Same held true for the Citrosa which may have just been an elaborate scam hatched overseas.
Anyone know more or has anyone run into this plant in Europe where the PR says it's "Demand Proven World-Wide". Is a warning to readers in order?
