Re: Did you get this in the mail?


I hate to appear churlish (no, I don't) but isn't the name of this odoriferous product misspelled anyway? "Scaredy" ain't in the OED, but in Eric Partridge's "Dictionary of Slang and Unconventional English," it's spelled "scaredy." The same spelling is used in the American Thesaurus of Slang. Perhaps the inventor is behind the movement to delete "e" from past tenses, thus saving endangered trees. They did spell "piss" and "off" correctly though. Margaret Lauterbach

The plant formerly known as Coleus caninus is now officially Plectranthus caninus. so it appears that "Scardy Cat" indeed falls within the range of my book. The story sounds faintly familiar.
