Re: How much do you tell your readers?

Most of us get a lot of info that is meaningless to the average home 
gardener. In Southern California I find that I'm dealing with too many 
micro-climates to be able to use such material loosely in my columns. But if 
there is a clear and present danger to this area, and I think the average 
home gardener can understand the problem and do something meaningful about it 
in his gardening, I do pass it on.

Of course, a great deal of what we get is promotional material from folks in 
business who have a vested interest in passing along the problem and 
suggesting their product will solve it. Sometimes it does, but like the many 
deer repellents on the market, doesn't always work.
