In our part of the country (Northern Virginia) these people aren't doing their own gardening either. They hire someone to design the garden, install it, and maintain it. If this is the case in other parts of the country as well, articles aimed at people living in these houses should actually be directed toward their designers and their maintenance companies, i.e., the people actually doing the work, not the home owners themselves.
