Re: Who's the audience
I guess I like the fact that I'm usually not preaching to the choir. I assume my garden club audiences are made up of beginning,
intermediate, and advanced gardeners as well as those who like to hear about gardening but don't want to do too much of it. My
radio audience is mostly home-landscapers, not gardeners... but part of the fun is trying to convert them. Getting people engaged in
the natural world, helping them to THINK about their plants, and encouraging wonder and excitement - that's the job of a garden
communicator. I say thank goodness that our task is far more challenging than just passing along the facts.
Sure, some people will just want the easy out or the fluff, (there are times when I want ?instant coffee? too) but as a garden
communicator it?s important to remember that enthusiasm is often contagious.
