Same here. Cooking a gourmet meal? I'd rather do it myself as well.
The only thing mentioned that I'd rather someone else do is my housework
(especially the dishes!). And the reason is because it's work.
A lot of people perceive gardening as work. To me, it isn't really. It's
a way to get outside and enjoy the weather and sun, get some exercise,
and get my creative juices flowing as I come up with schemes for new
planting beds. And of course, to watch my 'children' grow.
The key, I think, is not to pitch gardening as work.
