Career Update

FYI to any friends on the list:

As many of you may know, I left The Cook's Garden last June (2003) and it was sold to Burpee late last year. I taught a semester at Shepherd College in WV, and then worked a few months for AHS (American Hort Soc) before taking a new position at The Rodale Institute. I started yesterday as Program Director for a new program funded by USDA to assist conventional farmers who want to convert to organic production. I will be overseeing development of two pieces of software, an online Organic Transition Simulator Model that will help the farmers predict their yields and finances during and after transition, and an online, self-directed training course in organic principles and practices.

It is a very exciting program, but I suspect it will be taking me out of the freelance world for the immediate future. For any of you that want to keep up with my demented garden ravings during this period, I have created a Blog at http://www.gardenklog.com which will allow me to vent after hours. Any comments and imput on that are welcome!
