Re: Termites, cheap mulch and hurricanes


Even if the termite or a queen or some eggs managed to escape the  mulch 
production process...Looking through the literature that's easily  available it 
seems that the Formosan termite won't be an issue to most zone 7  and lower 
gardeners since the eggs won't hatch below 68 deg. F and the termites  life cycle 
isn't compatible with our much shortened 'growing'  season.
