American Hemerocallis Convention on Long Island
While I'm sitting here posting I wanted to let all of you know that the 60th
American Hemerocallis Convention will be held on Long Island this summer.
The dates are July 13th through the 16th, the headquarters is at the
Melville Marriott (same place as the GWA convention in 2004).
Seven private gardens and two public gardens are on the tour including my
own garden. Any writers or photographers who are in the area or are
interested, please contact me at melaniev@optonline.net Even if you aren't
interested in registering for the convention you can visit the gardens the
week before or after (or during the convention in my own garden).
Some gardens are strictly daylily growers (like a farmer with daylilies in a
row). Other gardens will mix plant material. My own garden has the least
amount of daylilies (600 newer varieties) and more perennials. I confess,
I'm a collectorhaulic.
Registration information can be found at www.lidaylily.org Obviously we are
not interested in being yelled at about hybrids or native plants.
