Re: Euphorbia

Lois, I'm zone 5b (Nova Scotia right on the Bay of Fundy with some
really nasty cold wind in winter) and I have a heap of euphorbias in
our garden. Along with the standard E. polychroma and E. myrsinites,
we have:

E. amygdaloides 'Efanthia'
E. griffithii 'Fireglow' (doesn't roam badly here at all, though some
say it spreads wildly. I adore it. E.g. 'Dixter' expired on me, or
possibly got dug up by accident. It happens sometimes...)
E. x martinii 'Rudolph' (may be marginal here, but I'll know in
another couple of months. It's well mulched and still buried under snow)
E polychroma 'Lacey'
E. polychroma 'Bonfire'
E. cyparissias
E. cyparissias 'Fens Ruby'
E. dulcis 'Chameleon'
E. amygdaloides 'Purpurea' or is it just Euphorbia purpurea these days?)
E. 'Froeup' Excalibur (pushing the zones here too, possibly as it's
listed as 6 at MoBOT)
E. 'Blue Haze' definitely pushing it here, but it was only 3 bucks at
a nursery on the balmy south shore of NS so worth trying...

Now, these aren't all as showy as the charachias types, but they're
pretty cool. I'm quite euphoric over euphorbias, as you can probably
tell....

cheers, jodi
