Re: Good news on an old topic


 
 
I'd be very interested in the demographics of the attendees, especially  
those under 40.  I've been hearing rumblings that there's a resurgence of  
interest in conservation, ecology and gardening in the 40 and under group and  I'd 
love to have confirmation.  I got what I think might be one clue last  week when 
I was asked to speak to a high school group that's involved in  
sustainability.

In two  weeks our local county extension and the "Master" Gardeners will be  
holding a Garden Day, a day-long group of seminars, three blocks, three  
choices in each. I'll be doing one on the small backyard vegetable garden.  
Also during the same block enrollees have their choice of Growing and  
Cooking with Herbs and Pruning Woody Ornamentals. As of a couple of days  
ago, just shy of 70 people had enrolled for the day, and of those 58  signed 
up for the veggie talk.
